From the film "Behold the Earth" directed by David Conover. Here's a song by Jean Ritchie that Dirk Powell suggested for the upcoming documentary for which he's putting together the music. I mostly knew Jean Ritchie from her association with Anne, Frank, Jeff and Gerret Warner until we shared a bill at a festival in 2004. There she gave me the Jean Ritchie Musical Heritage Award, which was a lovely gesture. I don't know if she's kept up with the award, but it was nice to be recognized as doing something useful. I knew the song from her singing it at the festival and from singing it to a different tune that Dirk used for a film done by Appalshop ca. 2004. Director David Conover had a CD of someone singing it and I cobbled this together from various memories and hearing the CD in the car on the way to the shoot.
