I was especially happy to have an unexpected chance to spend a few days with Martin Carthy. I realized I’d known him forever but never thought to ask “hey, what tuning are you in?” We had a great time trading musical tidbits and he showed me the sword he and Bob Dylan used to chop up a piano for firewood in 1962. At one point I changed hats and Martin mistook me for the plumber- we had a good laugh. “Stupid brain!”
